BASIC PESTICIDE TOXICOLOGY & RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT SEMINAR

Learning is essential to our existence. Just like food nourishes our bodies, information and continued learning nourishes our minds. Sauber Professionals, Inc. values continuous learning and development especially in service industry. Last October 22, 2019 two of our valued employees attended the “Basic Pesticide Toxicology & Resistance Management” held at Balibago Complex, Sta. Rosa.

The seminar was organized by South Luzon Pest Management Operators Association of the Philippines (SL-PMOAP), Inc. On the first part of the program it was discussed the common chemicals available in the Philippines. Available chemicals in the Philippines has limited content. Thus, it only attacks the nervous system of the insect.

Therefore, a simple rotational or switching of chemical application or pesticide rotation during Pest Control treatment is not enough to manage the pests.

The latter part was explained about pest resistance.  Resistance arises through the over-use or misuse of an insecticide or acaricide against pest species and result the Darwinian selection of resistant forms of the pest and the consequent evolution of populations that are resistant to that insecticide or acaricide.

As a concluded by the speaker, the best solution in managing pest resistance is using the Integrated Pest Management (IPM). IPM is a combination of cultural, sanitation, and biological control tactics.

Sauber Professionals, Inc. is pleased that what we practiced with our comprehensive Integrated Pest Management is the best solution as concluded in the seminar.
